Cerebra was founded with a single purpose: to help people achieve their best sleep possible.
The only way to achieve this is to understand sleep where it happens, in your brain.
Our unique technology provides advanced digital analysis of sleep using Cerebra ORP Sleep Depth. The development of ORP Sleep Depth is a breakthrough in sleep analysis, showing sleep as it actually happens: a continuous transition between thousands of levels of sleep depth.
Cerebra Research founder, Dr. Magdy Younes MD, FRCPC, PhD, directed the sleep lab at Health Sciences
Centre in Winnipeg, Canada. During his tenure, he recognized sleep medicine was lagging behind other fields in the application of digital technology, and patient care was suffering as a result.
Cerebra was formed by Earl Gardiner to advance the commercialization and integration of Dr. Younes' technologies within the sleep industry. In the summer of 2017, Cerebra acquired Dr. Younes' company, Younes Medical Technologies, joining the two organizations together.
Dr. Younes focused on another major impediment to sleep medicine - the sleep lab itself. With lab-quality electroencephalography (EEG) being restricted to labs, and home testing for sleep apnea only focusing on respiratory information, Dr. Younes and his team developed the Prodigy Sleep Monitor: the first home EEG recording system set up by patients themselves. The signal quality captured by Prodigy is indistinguishable from a lab.
This system would later inspire development of our Prodigy Sleep System, a full diagnostic home sleep system including movement and respiratory.
Cerebra launches a first of its kind, direct-to-consumer sleep study service in Canada. Offering unmatched capabilities for in-home sleep analysis with a focus on ORP Sleep Depth, this service provides consumers with new level of understanding of their sleep.
